One more Carmelite-related picture

Great great grandparents, originally uploaded by Chez VH.

I know I've posted these once upon time, but I thought I'd do a re-post for today. These are my great great grandparents dressed in their third-order Carmelite garb.

Happy Feast Day!

I love to see old family photos. As a convert, I'm slightly envious of that long, long Catholic family history of yours.

WOW, WOW, WOW!!!! What a treasure to have this photo.

Easy to see where you inherited your vibrant faith.

Just beautiful.

What side of the family? Where were they from?

I'm still planning on getting back to you with more details from my mom. I know they're from my mom's side and I'm pretty sure they're the ones who immigrated to the United States from the Portuguese Azores.

I can't wait!

Unfortunately I didn't find out much. I know that their last name was Rose and they were likely born in the United States, but of Portuguese descent (it was the other side of my mom's family that came from the Azores and we know more about their history). They are my mom's great grandparents.

mmmm... not a Portuguese word... perhapaps "Rosa"?

Yes, I was thinking that the last name probably got changed when they emigrated.

Oops - I should have said when the family emigrated. My mom thinks that their parents are probably the ones who emigrated.
