I am away from my references at the moment, but MUST point out that there is a famous ballade by GKC which has the refrain
"I like the sound of breaking glass."
He wrote it when he accidentally smashed a goblet at a friend's house.... when I can I shall give you some additional details - it's hilarious.
I am tempted to write my own... ballades are among the easiest poems to write because their form is so tightly specified. Like device drivers in computers... oh, well, back to work.
