Books:

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson

The Birds' Christmas Carol by Kate Douglas Wiggin

A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens

The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey by Susan Wojciechowski

The Friendly Beasts by Tomie de Paola

The Fussy Angel by Mary Arnold

The Gift of the Magi by O. Henry

How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss

The Legend of the Poinsettia by Tomie de Paola

The Miracle of St. Nicholas by Gloria Whelan

The Night of Las Posadas by Tomie de Paola

The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg - I liked the book, but not the movie.

The Story of Holly and Ivy by Rumer Godden - A special favorite of ours that not many people seem to know about.

Movies:

The Bells of St. Mary's (Bing Crosby, Ingrid Bergman)

The Bishop's Wife (Loretta Young, Cary Grant)

A Charlie Brown Christmas

Christmas in Connecticut (Barbara Stanwyck, Dennis Morgan) - This is an enormously funny, though slightly silly movie. Our favorite part of the DVD, though, is an Oscar-Winning short called "A Star in the Night".

Christmas with the Kranks - might want to edit a few spots for the kids, but lovable on the whole.

George Ballanchine's The Nutcracker

It's a Wonderful Life (Naturally!)

Joyeux Noel - not for the kiddos, but beautiful!

Miracle on 34th Street (Maureen O'Hara)

The Ultimate Gift - Not just for Christmas, but perfect for Christmas.

White Christmas (Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye)

Music (Albums):

The Bells of Dublin by the Chieftains

The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole

O Come All Ye Faithful by the Kings College Choir

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas by Burl Ives
